Taiwan’s Starlux expands in Japan
New routes from Taichung to Nagoya, Kaohsiung to Kobe, and Okinawa
September 18th, 2026. A new service has been lined up linking Taichung and Nagoya, in Japan. The route, to be launched by Starlux Airways, commences on October 25th and will operate four times a week at first. It will become daily from November 3rd and will then be reduced to three times a week from December 1st. To make matters more confusing, there will be two different time slots.
From October 25th, the service will operate on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with flight number JX1320 departing from Taichung International Airport at 11:30 and arriving at Chubu Centrair International Airport, Nagaoya at 15:10. The return leg, flight number JX1321, will leave Nagoya at 16:10 and touch down again in Taichung at 18:30.
From November 3rd, flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays will be added. These will take off from Taichung at 07:05 and arrive at 10:40. The return trip will leave Nagoya at 11:40 and arrive back in Taichung at 14:20.
From December first only the Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday flights will operate.
The route will be served by Airbus A321 Neo aircraft, and the journey time will be about two hours and thirty-five minutes for the outbound flight and three hours and twenty minutes for the return.
Kaohsiung to Kobe and Okinawa
The airline will launch two routes from Kaohsiung to destinations in Japan. Both launch on January 1st and operate daily.
First on the runway will be flight number JX360, which will depart from Kaohsiung International Airport at 08:25 and will touch down at Kobe International Airport at 12:15. The return leg, flight number JX361, will leave Kobe at 13:15 and arrive back in Kaohsiung at 16:00.
The route will be served by Airbus A321 Neo aircraft. The duration of the outbound journey will be two hours and fifty minutes, and about one hour longer for the return,
The Okinawa service, flight number JX362, will take off from Kaohsiung at 17:15 and arrive at Naha International Airport, Okinawa at 20:00. The return trip will leave Okinawa at 21:00 and arrive back in Kaohsiung at 22:05.
The outbound journey will be an hour and forty-five minutes, and the return, a little over two hours. This flight will also be served by Airbus 321 Neo aircraft.
