Loong launches Hangzhou to Busan
Hainan Airlines to introduce Haikou to Penang service
August 21st, 2026. On September 2nd, Chinese low-cost carrier Loong Air will introduce direct flights between Hangzhou and Busan, in South Korea. The service will operate four times on Sundays, a week, but with three different time slots.
On Sundays and Fridays, flight number GJ8207 will depart from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport at 14:05 and arrive at Gimhae International Airport, Busan at 17:05. The return leg, flight number GJ8208, will leave Busan at 18:05 and arrive back in Hangzhou at 19:15.
On Mondays, the flight leaves Hangzhou five minutes earlier, at 14:00, and on Wednesdays, fifteen minutes earlier at 13:50. Likewise, the return flights will leave five and fifteen minutes earlier at 18:00 and 17:50 respectively.
The route will be served by an Airbus A320, and the journey time will be two hours in each direction.
Haikou to Penang
Penang, in Malaysia, will be the next destination to be added to Hainan Airlines’ route map. Penang’s George Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is well known for its street art. The inaugural flight from Haikou will take off on October 11th, and will operate twice a week on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Flight number HU477 will leave Meilan International Airport, Haikou, at 17:30 and will arrive at Penang International Airport at 20:45. The return trip, flight number HU478, will leave Penang at 21:45 and arrive back in Haikou at 01:00 the next morning.
The journey time will be three hours and fifteen minutes in each direction, and the route will be served by a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
