China Eastern to launch Shanghai to Cheongju
FlyDubai opens reservations for a Pokhara service
June 15, 2026. Starting on July 30th, China Eastern Airlines will introduce a service between Shanghai and Cheongju, in central South Korea. The route will operate four times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Flight number MU5083 will depart from Shanghai Pu Dong International Airport at 07:50 and will arrive at Cheongju International Airport at 10:50 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, but twenty minutes later, at 11:10 on Sundays. No information is given, but my guess is that the difference is to do with the availability of parking slots. The return leg, flight number MU5084, leaves Cheongju at 11:50 or 12:10 on Sundays and is scheduled to touch down back in Shanghai at 13:10.
The journey time is approximately two hours in each direction, and the route will be served by Airbus A320 Neo aircraft.
Dubai to Pokhara
Low-cost carrier, FlyDubai, has opened reservations for a service linking the Emirate with the popular Himalayan trekking centre, Pokhara, in Nepal. Pokhara sits at the foot of the Annapurna range and is the jumping off point for numerous treks including Ghorepani Poon Hill, the Annapurna base camp, and circuit treks.
The service takes off on September 23rd and will operate daily. Flight number FZ1165 will depart from Dubai International Airport at 12:00 and will land at Pokhara International Airport at 18:15. The return journey, flight number FZ1166, will leave Pokhara at 19:15 and land back in Dubai at 22:20.
The outbound flight duration will be about four and a half hours, and the return approximately twenty minutes longer. The airline will deploy a Boeing B737 Max 8 aircraft for the route.
