Malaysia Airlines adds Shenzhen and Changsha from KL

April 15th, 2026. Hong Kong’s popular low-cost carrier, HK Express, has earmarked July 17th to launch a new daily service to Wuxi, in Jiangsu province, eastern China. Wuxi is sandwiched between the Yangtze River and Lake Taihu and was once a major centre of cotton and silk production.

Flight number UO214 will take off from Hong Kong International Airport at 16:15 and arrive at Shuofang Airport, Wuxi at 18:45. The return leg, flight number UO215, leaves Wuxi at 19:45 and lands back in Hong Kong at 22:20.

The journey time will be about two hours and thirty minutes in each direction, and the route will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.

Kuala Lumpur to Shenzhen and Changsha

Malaysia Airlines has lined up two new routes from Kuala Lumpur to destinations in China. First on the runway will be a daily flight to the southern city of Shenzhen, a major tech hub that sits along the border with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Commencing on July 1st, flight number MH522 will depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 21:05 and arrive at Shenzhen’s Bao’an International Airport at 01:15 the next morning. The return trip, flight number MH523, will leave Shenzhen at 02:45 and land back in Kuala Lumpur at 06:45.

A Boeing 737 Max 8 will serve the route, and the flight time will be about four hours in each direction.

A week later, on July 8th, the airline will launch a daily service connecting Kuala Lumpur with Changsha, the capital of Hunan province. Flight number MH520 will take off from Kuala Lumpur at 20:00 and will arrive at Huanghua International Airport, Changsha at 01:05 the next morning. The return journey, flight number MH521, will leave Changsha at 02:05 and land back in Kuala Lumpur at 06:50.

The outbound journey will be about five hours, and about fifteen minutes less for the return. The flight will be served by Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.
