China Eastern to launch Shanghai to Dublin, Qatar Airways returns to Haneda

May 20th, 2026. A new service connecting Shanghai with the Irish capital, Dublin, is to be launched by China Eastern Airways. Dublin sits at the mouth of the River Liffey and is the country’s main port. It is bordered, to the south, by the Wicklow Mountains National Park.

The flight will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays commencing on July 20th. Flight number MU231 will take off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 01:40 and arrive at Dublin Airport at 08:00. The return leg, flight number MU232, will depart from Dublin at 10:55 and land back in Shanghai at 06:30 the following morning.

The route will be served by Airbus A350-900 aircraft, and the journey time will be about thirteen and a half hours for the outbound trip and one hour less for the return.

Doha to Tokyo

Qatar Airways plans to resume its service between Doha and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport after a two-year hiatus. The service will initially operate four days a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays starting on July 15th. It will be upgraded to daily from August 1st.

Flight number QR812 will depart from Hamad International Airport, Doha, at 07:50 and is scheduled to land at Tokyo Haneda International Airport at 00:05 the next morning. The return trip, flight number QR813, will leave Tokyo at 01:35 and touch down again in Doha at 06:45.

The flight will be served by a mix of aircraft, Airbus A350-900 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and a Boeing 777-200LR for the remaining days.

The duration of the outbound flight will be ten hours and fifteen minutes, and an hour longer for the return.
