Time-limited Shenzhen to Phuket, and Hong Kong to Surabaya

April 29th, 2026. Low-cost carrier Spring Airlines has launched a new limited-time service between Shenzhen and the popular southern Thai resort island, Phuket. Initially, the flight will operate four times a week until May 10th and again four times a week between July 1st and August 31st, but with slightly adjusted time slots. After that, it will operate daily for 10 days between September 29th and October 8th.

Currently, flight number 9C8781 takes off from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport at 05:40 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and arrives at Phuket International Airport at 08:20. The return leg, flight number 9C8782, leaves Phuket at 23:20 and lands back in Shenzhen at 04:05 the next morning.

From July 1st, the departure time from Shenzhen will be revised to 05:55, arriving in Phuket at 08:55. The return trip will leave Phuket at 22:40 and touch down again in Shenzhen at 03:40 the next day.

An Airbus A320 will be deployed for the route, and the journey time will be about three hours and forty minutes in each direction.

Hong Kong to Surabaya

Later this year, Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines will be launching a new service linking the Special Administrative Region to Indonesia’s second city, Surabaya. Surabaya is the gateway to East Java, which includes Mt Ijen and the stunning Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

The flight will operate three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Flight number HB211 will depart from Hong Kong International Airport at 18:15 and will arrive at Juanda International Airport, Surabaya at 22:00. The return leg, flight number HB212, will leave Surabaya at 22:45 and land back in Hong Kong at 04:30 the following morning.

A Boeing 737-800 aircraft will serve the route, and the flight time will be about four hours and forty-five minutes in each direction.
