China Eastern adds flights to Almaty and Istanbul
May 2nd, 2025. From July 2nd Air Macau will be resuming its service from the Special Administrative Region to Chongqing, the futuristic city that straddles the confluence of the Yangtse and Jialing Rivers. The service will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Flight number NX182 will take off from Macau International Airport at 11:45 and touch down at Chongqing’s Jiangbei International Airport at 14:20. The return journey leaves Chongqing at 15:20 and lands back in Macau at 17:40.
The flight will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft and the flight time will be around two and a half hours.
Almaty and Istanbul
Commencing on June 24th China Eastern will be adding services between Xi’An and Istanbul.
Flight number MU5025 will depart from Xi’an’s Xianyang International Airport at
01:50 on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays and arrive at Istanbul Airport at 07:00. The return leg, flight number MU5026, departs from Istanbul at 11:00 and arrives back in Xi’an at 01:25 the following morning.
The airline will deploy Airbus A330-200 aircraft for the trip which will take ten hours and ten minutes to reach Istanbul but on nine and a half for the return.
From July 4th the airline will also launch a service between Shanghai and Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty. The flight will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Flight number MU6041 will depart from Shanghai’s Pudong Airport at 16:05 and will touch down at Almaty International Airport at 19:35. The return leg, flight number MU6042, will leave Almaty at 20:50 and touch down again in Shanghai at 05:45 the next morning.
The flight will be served by Airbus A321 aircraft. The outward journey time is six hours and thirty minutes but just a little under six hours on the way back.
