Japan’s Pasmo Passport to make train travel easy

A new smart card called the Pasmo Passport aimed at short-term visitors to Japan will launch on September 1. The card will enable e-money transactions on all IC card-compatible trains and buses as well as for making purchases at shops.

Holders can top up with no limits at train and bus stations as well as shopping malls. On top of the convenience, cardholders can also enjoy discounts as well as privileges at certain sightseeing spots. The card is valid for 28 days and will be available at main stations in Tokyo as well as Narita and Haneda airports.
