The Hong Kong international Jazz Festival will take place from September 22 to 27. The Event kicks off on the 22nd with a free concert at Olympic Square in Hong Kong Park at 2.30pm. The line up includes; Az Samad Trio from Malaysia; the Anne Evenou Quartet; SJZ Collective from the USA and Shaolin Fez with special guest Gretchell Yaneza and a band with musicians from the US, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
To keep the children amused there will be a balloon sculpture workshop called Slow Twist with Hatty Cheng from 2.00-6.00pm and face painting by Vi Li from 3:00-6:00pm.
The festival continues on Wednesday 25 at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre with Indian vocalist, tea and her Japanese backing band, Duo Paier Valcic from Austria/Croatia and the Greg Osby Band featuring musicians from the USA, Korea, Canada and Hong Kong.
Thursday 26 sees local guitarist Ron Ng and his Trio in action along with Morten Schantz Godspeed from Denmark and elephant9 from Norway.
The line up for Friday 27 features Maria Baptist & Jan von Klewitz Duo from Germany and the Mathias Eick Quintet from Norway.
