Hong Kong Airlines will start to rebuild its long-haul network in the new year. The airline dumped all its long-haul flights due to financial issues and the pandemic but has recently added several A330-300s a 220-seater A321. The first flights to hit the tarmac will be to Australia’s Gold Coast and Vancouver in Canada.

The Gold Coast service will take off on January 17th with departures on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Flight number HX015 will depart from Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok Airport at 22:00 and arrive in Gold Coast at 08:55 the following day. The return journey, flight number HX016 will depart from Gold Coast at 10:25 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays arriving back in Hong Kong at 17:20

The Hong Kong to Vancouver service will take off on January 18th with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flight number HX080 will depart from Hong Kong at 23:50 and arrive in Vancouver at 19:50. The return leg flight number HX081, will depart from Vancouver on Wednesdays and Sundays at 01:05 and arrive back in Hong Kong at 07:00 the following morning.

Both flights will deploy the airline’s Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

Also to Europe

Cathay Pacific will launch a new non-stop service to Munich next summer. The flight is scheduled to take off on June 16th with four departures a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Flight number CX 301 will depart Hong Kong at 01:10 and arrive in Munich at 07:55. The return leg, flight number CX300, leaves Munich at 14:00 and lands back in Hong Kong at 06:55 the next morning.

From August 3rd the airline will reinstate its service between Hong Kong and Brussels. The flight will operate four times a week with departures on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Flight number CX291 will take off from Hong Kong at 23:35 and arrive in Brussels at 07:05 the following morning.

The return leg will depart from Brussels at 13:25 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving back in Hong Kong at 06:55 the next day.

Both Cathay flights will be served by the airline’s Airbus 350-900 aircraft.
