HK Rugby Sevens postponed

The Hong Kong Rugby Sevens, the city’s showcase sporting event and world rugby’s premier sevens tournament has been postponed due to the coronavirus. The event, which is as famous for its outlandish fancy dress and party atmosphere as it is for fast-paced rugby, was due to take place between April 3-5. It will now be played October 16-18.

The Sevens is one more casualty in a long list of events in Hong Kong that have been cancelled or postponed due to either the virus or to the protests that have rocked the city since June. Other events postponed or cancelled include the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Clockenflap Festival and the Hong Kong Marathon.
