Haikou to Osaka

February 18th, 2025. Commencing on April 3rd, HK Express Airways will resume its service between Hong Kong and Ishigaki, one of the southernmost islands of Japan’s Okinawa prefecture.

Sitting just to the east of Taiwan, Ishigaki is a mere 500 kilometres from Hong Kong making it an ideal getaway for either a long weekend or a more in-depth adventure exploring the Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park. Boasting crystal clear waters, the island offers excellent diving and snorkelling opportunities as well as glass bottom boat tours.

Flight number UO812 will take off from Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok Airport at 07:35
and arrive at Painushima Ishigaki Airport at 10:40. The return leg, flight number UO813, will depart from Ishigaki at 11:35 and arrive in Hong Kong at 12:50. The journey time in each direction is a little over two hours.

The airline also operates a daily service to Naha, on Okinawa’s main island flights enabling travellers to fly to one and island hop to the other for the flight home.

Haikou to Osaka

Hainan Airlines is also resuming its service between its home base in Haikou, on Hainan Island, and Osaka. The service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays starting from April 1st.

Flight number HU771 will depart from Haikou Meilan Airport at 08:05 and arrive at Kansai International Airport, Osaka at 13:25. The return trip, flight number HU772 leaves Osaka at 14:30 and arrives back in Haikou at 18:20.

The outward journey takes around four hours and twenty minutes while the return is scheduled at four hours and fifty minutes. The flight will be served by a Boeing 737-800 aircraft,
