Chiang Mai, Osaka, and three to the Philippines
September 7th, 2026. VietJet has five new routes lined up for the latter end of the year; one each to Thailand and Japan, and three to the Philippines.
Hitting the runway on October 25th will be a resumption of its service between Ho Chi Minh City and the Northern Thai city of Chiang Mai. The route will operate four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Flight number VJ1883 will depart from Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat Airport at 13:25 and will arrive at Chiang Mai International Airport at 15:30. The return journey, flight number VJ1884, will leave Chiang Mai at 16:30 and will arrive back in Ho Chi Minh at 18:45.
An Airbus A321 will serve the route, and the journey time will be two hours and five minutes for the outbound flight, and ten minutes longer for the return.
Three to the Philippines
November 10th will see the launch of three new services to the Philippines: Hanoi to Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City to both Cebu and to Clarke, the airport that serves Angeles City.
The Hanoi to Cebu service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flight number VJ1956 will depart from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport at 01:00 and will touch down at Mactan-Cebu International Airport at 05:30. The return trip, flight number VJ1957, will leave Cebu at 06:30 and arrive back in Hanoi at 09:15.
The outbound flight time will be three and a half hours, and about fifteen minutes longer for the return.
The route from Ho Chi Minh City to Cebu, flight Number VJ1892, will depart at 22:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and will touch down in Cebu at 02:00 the next morning. The return leg, flight number VJ1893, will leave Cebu at 03:00 on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and arrive back in Ho Chi Minh at 04:55.
Flight Number VJ1870 will take off from Ho Chi Minh at 02:05 and touch down at Clark International Airport, Angeles at 05:40. The return leg, flight number VJ1871, will leave Clark at 06:40 and arrive back in Ho Chi Minh at 08:10.
The journey will last for about two and a half hours each way. All flights to the Philippines will deploy an Airbus A321 aircraft.
Da Nang to Osaka
A daily service linking Da Nang with Osaka, Japan, will launch on December 20th.
Flight Number VJ922 will depart from Da Nang International Airport at 02:30 and arrive at Kansai International Airport, Osaka at 08:50. The return journey, flight number VJ923, will leave Osaka at 10:10 and land back in Da Nang at 13:45.
An Airbus A321 will also operate this route, and the journey time will be four hours and twenty minutes for the outbound flight and five hours and thirty-five minutes for the return.
