New services from Ho Chi Minh and Phu Quoc, plus Taipei to Bali

July 6th, 2026. Sun PhuQuoc Airways is launching two routes to Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan province, lined up. One from Phu Quoc Island, which will launch on July 16th, and the other from Ho Chi Minh City, which will launch the following month.

Flight number 9G610 will take off from Phu Quoc International Airport at 16:25 and will arrive at Tianfu International Airport, Chengdu at 21:05. The return trip, flight number 9G611, will depart from Chengdu at 22:05 and touch down again in Phu Quoc at 00:50 the following morning.

The journey time will be about three hours and forty-five minutes in each direction, and the flight will be served by Airbus A320 Neo aircraft.

The service from Ho Chi Minh City will take off on August 12th. Flight number 9G640 will depart from Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 16:35 and land in Chengdu at 21:05. The return leg, flight number 9G641, will leave Chengdu at 22:05 and arrive back in Ho Chi Minh at 00:55 the next morning.

An Airbus A320 Neo will also be deployed for this route, and the journey time will be three and a half hours for the outbound flight and a little under four hours for the return.

Taipei to Bali

Starting on October 1st, Starlux Airlines will launch a service between Taipei and Bali. The flight will initially depart five times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, but from October 29th will reduce to four times a week by omitting the Tuesday service.

Flight number JX765 will depart from Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport at 10:10 and land at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar at 15:40. The return leg, flight number JX766, will leave Denpasar at 16:40 and arrive back in Taipei at 22:05.

An Airbus A321 Neo will serve the route, and the duration will be about five and a half hours in each direction.
