New flights for Qantas
October 21st, 2024. Qantas will introduce direct flights between its northern city of Darwin and Singapore from the end of March 2025. The flight will be operated by Qantaslink, a regional subsidiary of its parent, using its new Airbus A220-300. It will fly five times a week on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Flight number QF281 will take off from Darwin at 15:55 and arrive at Singapore’s Changi Airport at 19:15. The return leg, flight number QF282, will leave Singapore at 22:25 and land back in Darwin at 04:45 the next morning.
Palau Paradise Express
Qantas has also been awarded the contract to fly the Palau Paradise Express, a service that connects Brisbane with Koror on the Pacific Island. The service was originally introduced in May 2024 and operated first by Air Niugini and currently by Air Nauru.
Qantas is expected to operate the service until at least November 2025. At present, there are no details of the flight on their website but Air Nauru appears to be accepting bookings until the end of March 2025.
“We appreciate Australia for partnering with us to promote economic activity between our two nations,” said Surangel S. Whipps, Jr. Palau’s President. “The flight makes it easier for tourists and businesspeople to travel between our two nations and encourages trade and commerce.”

The Thai carrier will also be adding a second flight a day to both Frankfurt and London and upgrade services to Munich, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Zurich, Paris and Milan to daily flights for the winter schedule.
