Two new routes for Scoot

November 14th, 2024. Singapore’s low-cost carrier will be launching two new routes, Phu Quoc in Vietnam, Padang in Indonesia.

First on the runway will be the service to Phu Quoc which will launch on December 20th. The area is home to the Unesco-listed Phu Quoc National Park with rare wildlife and beautiful tropical beaches.

Initially, the flight will operate three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. From January 24th a further two flights will be added on Saturdays and Mondays. According to the airline’s website, the departure times vary depending on which day you are travelling so keep that in mind and always double-check if you are planning a mixed itinerary.

On Sundays flight number TR340 will depart from Singapore’s Changi Airport at 21:45 and arrive in Phu Quoc at 22:30. The return leg, flight number TR341, leaves Phu Quoc at 23:05 and touches down again in Singapore at 02:00 the next morning.

On Wednesdays and Fridays, the departure time from Singapore will be 12:35 arriving in Phu Quoc at 13:20. It will depart again at 13:55 and arrive back in Singapore at 19:30.

On Mondays flight number TR324 will take off from Singapore at 14:55 and land in Phu Quoc at 15:40. It returns as flight number TR325, leaving Phu Quoc at 16:35 and landing in Singapore at 19:30.

Saturdays flight numbers are the same as Monday but the flight will leave Singapore at 16:45 and arrive in Phu Quoc at 17:30. The return journey leaves again at 18:05 and gets back to Singapore at 21:00.

The flight duration is approximately two hours.

On to Sumatra

Padang is the capital of West Sumatra province and sits on the Batang Arau River. It had always been an important port attracting ships trading in goods such as pepper, cinnamon and coffee. It came under the authority of the Dutch in 1663.

Scoot’s service to Padang will commence on January 6th, 2025 with four flights a week over two time slots. On Sundays and Fridays, flight number TR208 will depart from Singapore at 16:55 and arrive at Padang’s Minangkabau International Airport at 17:20. It will return to Singapore as TR209, leaving Padang at 17:55 and landing back in Singapore at 20:05.

On Mondays and Saturdays flight number TR204 will take off from Singapore at 12:00 and arrive in Padang at 12:25. The return leg, flight number TR205 will leave Padang at 13:00 and touch down in Singapore at 15:10.

Flight time is a little over one hour. Both this and the service to Phu Quoc will be serviced by the airline’s Embraer E190-E2 aircraft.
