Two new routes for HK Express
April 9th, 2025. Hong Kong’s low-cost carrier, HK Express, will be expanding its network in China towards the end of May with new routes to Changzhou and Yiwu lined up. The first to take off will be the flight to Changzhou, in Jiangsu province which will launch on May 23rd.
Changzhou hugs the bank of the Yangtze River which passes to the north. Taihu Lake is to the south of the city. The historic city of Suzhou is about 75 kilometres to the southeast with Shanghai about 150 kilometres in the same direction. The provincial capital, Nanjing, lies to the west.
Flight number UO272 will depart from Hong Kong’s International Airport at Chek Lap Kok at 17:45 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and arrive at Changzhou Benniu Airport at 20:05. The return leg, flight number UO273, will leave Changzhou at 20:50 and arrive back in Hong Kong at 23:10.
The journey will be on board Airbus A320 aircraft and will take about two hours and twenty minutes in each direction.
To Yiwu Market
Six days later, on May 29th, the airline will launch a service connecting Hong Kong with Yiwu in Central Zhejiang Province.
The chief attraction is the Yiwu International Trade City, one of the world’s largest wholesale markets. The market boasts 75,000 booths with around 400,000 kinds of products from 40 different industries.
Apart from the market travellers can visit the Hengdian World Studios, a film studio at Dongyang just to the south of Yiwu, which features live performances.
Flight number UO212 will take off from Hong Kong at 14:10 and arrive in Yiwu at 16:20. The return journey departs from Yiwu at 17:05 and lands back in Hong Kong at 19:35.
An Airbus A320 will make the outbound journey in two hours and ten minutes, the return will take two and a half hours.
