Two new routes between Thailand and India
Phuket to Mumbai launching in August, and Bangkok to Kolkata in November
July 28th, 2025. Thai VietJet has two new services on the radar. The first will link Phuket with Mumbai. The second will connect Bangkok and Kolkata. Both services will operate four times a week.
Starting on August 14th, flight number VZ762 will depart from Phuket International Airport on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 22:10 and land at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai at 01:05 the following morning. The return journey, flight number VZ763, will leave Mumbai at 02:05 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and arrive back in Phuket at 08:20.
Mumbai is the capital of Maharashtra state and the financial capital of India. It is also the home of Bollywood, the prolific Indian film industry, which churns out between 150 and 200 movies a year.
The aircraft for the route will be an Airbus A320, and the journey time will be about four and a half hours for the outbound flight, a little longer for the return.
Bangkok to Kolkata
The service between Bangkok and Kolkata launches on November 16th. Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, is the capital of West Bengal. From 1772 until 1911, it was the capital of British India and is still widely regarded as the country’s cultural capital.
Flight number VZ770 will take off from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 21:55 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and will arrive at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at 23:20. The return leg, flight number VZ771 will depart from kolkata at 00:20 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and touch down back in Bangkok at 04:25.
The flight time will be approximately three hours for the outbound journey and a little less for the return. The route will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.
