November 10th, 2025. Starting on November 24th, TransNusa will introduce a new service connecting Jakarta with Penang in Malaysia. The flight will initially operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays but will become daily in December.

Flight number 8B633 will depart from Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 05:00 and will touch down at Penang International Airport at 08:30. The return leg, flight number 8B632, will leave Penang at 09:30 and will land back in Jakarta at 10:55.

The route will be handled by Airbus A320-200 aircraft, and the journey time will be about two and a half hours in each direction.

Beijing to Abu Dhabi

A new service linking Beijing and Abu Dhabi will be launched by Air China on January 24th. The flight will operate four times a week, departing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Flight number CA705 will take off from Beijing Capital International Airport at 16:25 and will arrive at Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi, at 21:50. The return journey, flight number CA706, will leave Abu Dhabi at 23:50 and will arrive back in Beijing at 11:50 the following morning.

The outbound journey will take around nine and a half hours, while the return is about eight hours. The route will be served by Boeing 787-900 aircraft.

Hong Kong to the Maldives

Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines will be operating a short seasonal service between the city and the luxury island getaway, the Maldives. The flights will operate daily between February 8th and 25th only.

Flight number HB2500 will depart from Hong Kong International Airport at 13:50 and arrive at Velana International Airport in Malé at 17:20. The return leg*, flight number HB2501, will leave Malé at 19:20 and arrive back in Hong Kong at 05:20 the next morning.

The duration will be around six and a half hours for the outbound flight, and about 30 minutes longer for the return. The route will be served by Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft.

*At the time of writing, the airline’s own booking platform is showing all return flights as sold out, but Skyscanner is still listing more than half a dozen agents that are offering the service.
