Sendai, Almaty, and Riyadh are all on the timetable for AirAsia X

October 2nd, 2025. Thai AirAsia X will be launching three routes from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport at the beginning of December. The new destinations are Sendai, Almaty, and Riyadh.

Taking off on December 1st will be the service to Sendai, the capital of Miyagi Prefecture on Japan’s east coast, about 300 kilometres north of Tokyo. The city’s Pageant of Starlight festival, where the trees along Jozenji-dori Avenue are illuminated with thousands of lights, runs from December 6th until the 25th.

The service will operate four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Flight number XJ630 will depart from Bangkok at 02:15, and arrive at Sendai Airport at 10:30. The return journey, flight number XJ631, will leave Sendai at 12:00, and arrive back in Bangkok at 17:30.

The flight will be served by Airbus A330-300 aircraft, with the outbound flight lasting six hours and fifteen minutes and the return about seven and a half hours.

Almaty

Later on the same day, the airline will launch a service to Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city.

There will be four flights a week with two different time slots. On Sundays and Fridays, flight number XJ 864 will take off from Bangkok and arrive at Almaty International Airport at 22:30. The return trip, flight number XJ865, will leave Almaty at 23:45 and land back in Bangkok at 08:25 the next day.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, flight number XJ 864 leaves Bangkok at 17:55 and arrives in Almaty at 23:05. The return leg, flight number XJ865, departs Almaty at 00:20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and touches down again in Bangkok at 09:00.

The flight will be a little over seven hours in each direction on board an A330-300 aircraft.

Riyadh

The service to Riyadh launches on December 2nd and will operate four times a week,

Flight number XJ920 will take off from Bangkok on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 16:00 and will touch down at King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh at 20:20. The return leg, flight number XJ921, leaves Riyadh at 21:35 and arrives back in Bangkok at 08:45 the next morning.

An Airbus A330-300 aircraft will serve the route, and the duration will be approximately eight and a half hours for the outbound trip and about seven hours for the return.
