Three new flights between China and Japan
Qingdao to Osaka and Shanghai to Matsuyama and Fukuoka
April 7th, 2025. China Eastern Airlines is launching two new services and its wholly owned subsidiary, Shanghai Airlines, another. China Eastern will be first on the runway with a service linking Qingdao with Osaka which will operate three times a week starting on April 15th.
Flight number MU2037 will take off from Qingdao’s Jiaodong International Airport at 09:25 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrive at Osaka Kansai International Airport at 12:50. The return leg, flight number MU2018, departs from Osaka at 13:50 and arrives back in Qingdao at 15:50.
An Airbus A320 will make the outbound journey in two hours and twenty-five minutes, the return will take about three hours.
Starting July 3rd the airline will launch a twice-weekly flight between Shanghai and Matsuyama. The service will operate on Sundays and Thursdays with flight number MU275 departing from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 09:15 and arriving at Matsuyama Airport at 12:10. The return journey, flight number MU276, will leave Matsuyama at 13:05 and land back in Shanghai at 14:10.
The outward flight takes a little under two hours, the return a little over and will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.
Shanghai to Fukuoka
From April 20th Shanghai Airlines will be adding another flight to the already crowded Shanghai to Fukuoka route.
Flight number FM837 with take off from Shanghai Pudong at 10:55 and arrive at Fukuoka Airport at 14:00. The return trip, flight number FM838 will leave Fukuoka at 15:10 and land back in Shanghai at 16:10.
The flight duration is about two hours each way and will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
