Guangzhou to both Perth and Christchurch and Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane

June 30th, 2025. China Southern will be resuming seasonal flights to both Perth, in Western Australia and Christchurch on South Island, New Zealand. First on the runway will be the service to Christchurch which takes off on November 1st. It will initially operate five days a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays but this will increase to daily from December 18th until March 3rd, 2026.

Flight number CZ617 will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 00:50 and land at Christchurch Airport at 17:20. The return leg, flight number CZ618 will leave Christchurch at 22:30 and arrive back in Guangzhou at 05:20 the following morning.

The travel time will be approximately eleven and a half hours for the outbound flight a little longer for the return. The route will be served by Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The fight to Perth will take off on November 30th and will operate three times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays until March 2026.

Flight number CZ319 will depart from Guangzhou at 13:55 and will touch down at Perth Airport at 22:00. The return journey, flight number CZ320 will leave Perth at 23:55 and arrive back in Guangzhou at 08:05 the next morning.

The flight will be served by Boeing 787-9 aircraft and will take a little over eight hours in each direction.

Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane

Malaysian Airlines will be resuming its Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane service. The flight will operate five times a week starting from November 29th.

Flight number MH135 will depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 20:40 and land at Brisbane Airport at 06:45 the following morning. The return leg, flight number MH134, will leave Brisbane on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 08:00 and will touch down back in Kuala Lumpur at 14:10.

An Airbus A330-300 aircraft will make the journey in a little over eight hours in each direction.
