August 30, 2024 Peach Aviation will be launching a new daily route between Osaka’s Kansai airport and Changi in Singapore.

Flight number MM773 will depart from Kansai at 18:50 and arrive in Singapore at 01:00 the following morning. The return flight, number MM774, will leave Singapore at 02:15 arriving back in Osaka at 09:35.

Low-cost airline, Peach, was founded in 2011 and is based in Osaka. This new flight to Singapore will bring their total number of international services up to seven alongside Seoul, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Bangkok.

“Japan continues to be a top holiday destination for Singapore residents, with passenger traffic growing more than 25 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2024. As one of Changi’s top markets, this new route not only strengthens the connectivity between Singapore and Japan but also expands travel choices for our passengers,” said Lim Ching Kiat, Changi Airport Group’s executive vice-president of air hub and cargo development.

With a population of around 2.7 million, Osaka is the third largest city in Japan after Tokyo and Yokohama. The city’s main landmark is Osaka Castle. Although the original castle was built in 1583 it has been rebuilt several times over. The most recent dates back to 1931 but even that was modernised again in 1997.

Nevertheless, it remains an impressive sight surrounded by a moat and set within Nishinomaru Garden which boasts around 600 cherry trees.

Osaka-Kansai is set to host the World Expo 2025 between April and October.
