New services between China and Central Asia
Guangzhou to Almaty, Xi’An to Tashkent and Tbilisi and Beijing to Dushanbe
May 27th, 2025. On June 25th, China Southern will be launching a direct service between Guangzhou and Almaty in Kazakhstan. The flight will operate three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with two different time slots.
On Mondays and Fridays flight number CZ3083 will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 13:50 and arrive at Almaty International Airport at 18:00. The return leg, flight number CZ3084, will depart from Almaty at 20:00 and arrive back in Guangzhou at 05:15 the following day.
On Wednesdays the flight departs from Guangzhou at 16:05 and arrives in Almaty at 20:10. It leaves Almaty at 21:40 and touches down again in Guangzhou at 06:55 the next morning.
The flight is served by Boeing 737-8 Max aircraft and the duration is a little over seven hours for the outbound journey and about an hour less for the return.
On the same day, the airline will also launch a service between Beijing and the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. The flight will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Flight number CZ6051 will depart from Beijing Daxing International Airport at 16:40 and will touch down at Dushanbe International Airport at 20:40. The return journey, flight number CZ6052, will depart from Dushanbe at 22:00 and land back in Beijing at 06:50 the next morning.

Xi’An to Tashkent and Tbilisi
Effective July 16th, China Eastern will launch a three times a week service between Xi’An and the Georgian capital, Tbilisi via Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
Tbilisi sits on the banks of the Kura River in a narrow valley with the Caucasus Mountains to the north and south and the Caspian and Black Seas to the east and west respectively.
Flight number MU855 will take off from Xian Xianyang International Airport at 12:15 on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and land at Tashkent International Airport at 14:30 for an 80-minute stop. It will leave Tashkent at 15:50 and arrive at Tbilisi International Airport at 18:10.
The return journey, flight number MU856, will depart from Tbilisi at 19:10 and arrive back in Tashkent at 23:10. It resumes its journey at 00:30 the following morning and lands back in Xian at 08:35.
The overall duration of the journey will be just under ten hours for the outbound journey and around 30 minutes less for the return. The flight will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.
