New service from Vancouver to Manila

New service from Vancouver to Manila
And Seattle to Tokyo

January 13th, 2025. Air Canada will be launching direct flights between Vancouver and Manila commencing April 2nd. The service will initially operate three times a week but will increase to four from May 1st.

For the first month flight number AC17 will depart from Vancouver International Airport at 01:55 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. From May 1st, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. It will arrive at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 06:20 the following day.

The return leg, flight number AC18, will initially depart from Manila on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and from May 1st on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 09:25 arriving back in Vancouver at 06:20.

The airline will deploy Boeing 787-900 Dreamliners with a flight time between twelve to thirteen and a half hours depending on direction.

Seattle to Tokyo

On May 12th Hawaiian Airlines will launch daily direct non-stop flights between Seattle and Tokyo’s Narita Airport. The airline which is the largest operator of commercial flights to and from Hawaii, is a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group who are in the process of launching Seattle as a new regional hub.

The airline is planning to launch at least a dozen non-stop flights, out of Seattle, to global destinations before the end of the decade with this new service to Narita being the first.

Flight number HA823 will take off from Seattle’s Tacoma International Airport at 13:30 and arrive in Tokyo at 16:00 the following day

The return leg, flight number HA824, will depart from Tokyo at 18:25 and arrive back in Seattle at 11:40. The flight duration is approximately ten hours and will be served by an will be served by an Airbus A330-200.

Hawaiian also offers nonstop services between Honolulu and both Osaka and Fukuoka.

There are also plans to launch services to Seoul Incheon beginning in October though no details are available yet.
