Akasa Air to launch flights between Mumbai and Phuket

August 14th, 2025. Starting from November 14th, AirAsia X will commence services between Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul.

Straddling the Bosphorus with one part in Europe and the other in Asia, Istanbul has a history stretching over one and a half millennia. In the past, it has been known as Byzantium and Constantinople, it has seen empires crumble, witnessed several crusades and has occupied a strategic position on the ancient Silk Road.

Today, the city is Turkey’s commercial and cultural centre, and its historic heart is a Unesco World Heritage site. Istanbul is also known for its large population of street cats.

Flight number D7604 will take off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 09:35 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and will arrive at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport at 16:05. The return journey will leave Istanbul at 17:20 and touch down again in Kuala Lumpur at 08:40 the next morning.

The route will be served by Airbus A330-300 aircraft, and the journey time will be about eleven and a half hours for the outbound flight and an hour less for the return.

Mumbai to Phuket

Akasa Air has earmarked September 20th to launch a new service between Mumbai and Phuket in southern Thailand

Flight number QP0618 will take off from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 07:40 and arrive at Phuket International Airport at 14:35. The return leg, flight number QP0619, will leave Phuket at 15:35 and arrive back in Mumbai at 19:15.

The journey will be approximately five and a half hours in each direction, and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will serve the route.
