New service between Hong Kong and Changzhou
Also Hanoi to Chengdu and Haikou to Jeddah
May 28th, 2025. HK Express has launched the first direct flights between Hong Kong to Changzhou in Jiangsu Province about 150 kilometres northwest of Shanghai. It is located on the southern bank of the Yangtze River with Taihu Lake and the 88 metre tall Grand Buddha at Ling Shan to the south.
The service operates three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Flight number OU272 departs from Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok at 17:45 and arrives at Changzhou Benniu International Airport at 20:05. The return leg, flight number UO273, leaves Changzhou at 20:50 and touches down again in Hong Kong at 23:10.
The flight is served by Airbus A320 aircraft and the journey time is approximately two and a half hours each way.
Hanoi to Chengdu
Starting on July 1st VietJet Air will introduce a direct flight between Hanoi and Chengdu. The service will depart four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Flight number VJ7306 will take off from Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport at 21:10 and arrive at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 00:15. The return journey, flight number VJ7307, will depart from Chengdu at 01:15 and land back in Hanoi at 02:25.
The duration of the flight will be a little over two hours and will be on board an Airbus A320 aircraft.
Haikou to Jeddah
Meanwhile, Hainan Airlines had earmarked June 28th to commence a service between its base in Haikou, on Hainan Island and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The flight will operate three times a week but with slightly different departure times for each day.
On Mondays, flight number HU7913 will take off from Haikou’s Meilan Airport at 03:30, Wednesdays at 03:50 and Saturdays at 03:40 with arrival times at King Abdulaziz International Airport between 08:00 and 08:15.
The return journeys depart from Jedda at 13:00, 14:00 and 14:40 respectively arriving back in Haikou at 04:00, 05:00 and 04:40 the following day.
The flight times are approximately nine and a half hours and will be served by Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
