New routes from S Korea to Malaysia and China

South Korean low-cost carrier, Jeju Air, has launched a new service linking the southern city of Busan with Kota Kinabau in Malaysia’s Sabah state. The new route flies six times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Flight number 7C2551 will take off from Busan’s Gimhae International Airport at 21:00 and arrive in Kota Kinabalu at 01:20 the next morning. The return journey, flight number 7C2552, will depart Kota Kinabalu at 02:20 on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, arriving back in Busan at 08:00

“South Korea is the third highest source of international arrivals for Sabah, with 124,631 tourist arrivals up to August this year. As the months ahead mark the winter season in South Korea, Sabah could become their holiday destination with our tropical climate, which is a good opportunity for avid golfers,” said Datuk Seri Panglima Christina Liew, Sabah’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment.

Kota kinabalu is also the gateway to the Kinabalu Park, a Unesco Heritage site crowned by the mighty Mount Kinabalu. The park s famous for its unique bio-diversity and a magnet for both hikers and nature lovers alike.

Jeju Air also offers direct flights from Seoul’s Incheon Airport to Kota Kinabalu.

Seoul Incheon to Fuzhou, China

Meanwhile Korean Air will be launching a new route between Seoul’s Incheon Airport to Fuzhou in China. The service will commence on December 28, 2024 and operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Fuzhou is the capital of Fujian province and sits on the estuary of the Min River about 680 kilometres northeast of Hong Kong.

Flight number KE127 will depart from Seoul at 08:40 and arrive at Fuzhou’s Changle International Airport at 10:30. The return leg will depart from Fuzhou at 11:40 and arrive back in Seoul at 15:35.

The flight duration is a little under three hours and will be served by Boeing 737-900ER.
