New routes from Manila to Vietnam
AirAsia lines up services to Danang and Hanoi. Thai AirAsia X schedules Sapporo

January 19th, 2026. Philippines AirAsia has lined up two new services linking Manila with destinations in Vietnam. First on the runway will be a flight to Danang. There is an inaugural flight departing on March 20th, but the timetable doesn’t settle into a regular service until March 29th.

The flight will operate four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Flight number Z2822 will take off from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila, at 06:05 and will arrive at Danang International Airport at 07:35. The return leg, flight number Z2823, will leave Danang at 08:55 and land back in Manila at 12:25.

The route will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft, and the journey time will be about two and a half hours in each direction.

Manila to Hanoi

A service to Hanoi will also launch on March 20th and operate on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Flight number Z2840 will take off from Manila at 17:35 and touch down at Noi Bai International Airport at 19:50. The return trip, flight number Z2841, will leave Hanoi at 22:40 and arrive back in Manila at 01:00 the next morning.

This route will also be served by Airbus A320 aircraft, and the flight time is scheduled to be about three hours and fifteen minutes.

“The addition of Vietnam to our route network highlights AirAsia Philippines’ commitment to growth and leadership in the budget travel market. We hope to give Filipino travellers more choices, better value, and easier access to exciting destinations in Southeast Asia,” said the airline’s CEO, Suresh Bangah.

Bangkok to Sapporo

Meanwhile, Thai AirAsia X has scheduled a twice-weekly service between Bangkok and Sapporo for the month of July. The service will operate on Sundays and Thursdays from July 2nd until July 26th.

Flight number XJ620 will depart from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport at 01:50 and arrive at New Chitose Airport, Sapporo, at 10:40. The return leg, flight number XJ621, will leave Sapporo at 11:55 and arrive back in Bangkok at 18:05.

The outbound journey time will be a little under seven hours, and the return a little over eight hours. The flight will be served by an Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
