New routes from China to Vietnam
Flights from Chengdu to Phu Quoc, Haikou and Zhengzhou to Hanoi
December 15th, 2025. Starting on December 28th, Tibet Airlines will launch a new route connecting the Sichuan capital, Chengdu, with the resort island of Phu Quoc in Vietnam. The service will operate twice a week on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Flight number TV9781 will depart from Chengdu’s Tianfu International Airport at 18:00 and will touch down at Phu Quoc International Airport at 21:00. The return leg, flight number TV9782, will leave Phu Quoc at 22:00 and arrive back in Chengdu at 02:20 the next morning.
The flight will be served by an Airbus A319 aircraft, and the duration will be about four hours for the outbound journey and about forty minutes less for the return.
The Tibet Airlines website appears to be Chinese language only, but for non-Chinese, Skyscanner lists a few agents who are offering the route.
Haikou and Zhengzhou to Hanoi
Also launching on December 28th will be a Hainan Airlines service linking the provincial capital of Haikou with Hanoi. The flight will operate three times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Flight number HU783 will take off from Haikou’s Meilan International Airport at 21:30 and will land at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi at 22:10. The return leg, flight number HU784, will depart from Hanoi at 23:15 and arrive back in Haikou at 01:45 the next morning.
The flight duration will be approximately ninety minutes for the outbound flight, and a few minutes longer for the return. The route will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
China Southern will offer a short seasonal service between Zhengzhou and Hanoi. The flight will operate daily between February 7th and 13th and from February 21st until March 2nd.
Flight number CZ5029 will depart from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport at 23:25 and arrive in Hanoi at 01:50 the next morning. The return leg, flight number CZ5030, will leave Hanoi at 02:55 and will arrive back in Zhengzhou at 06:55.
The outbound flight duration will be about three and a half hours, and about three hours for the return. The route will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
