January 2nd, 2026. Shanghai-based low-cost carrier Spring Airlines has lined up a route to connect Shanghai with Penang, in Malaysia. The service takes off on January 30th and will operate daily.

Flight number 9C7259 will depart from Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport at 08:50 and will touch down at Penang International Airport at 14:30. The return trip, flight number 9C7260, will leave Penang at 15:30 and will land back in Shanghai at 20:40.

The outbound journey will last for about five hours and forty minutes, and the return, about half an hour less. An Airbus A320 aircraft will serve the route.

Kota Kinabalu to Singapore

Malaysia’s Batik Air has lined up a service connecting Kota Kinabalu, in Sabah State, Borneo, with Singapore. The flight will operate daily commencing on February 12th.

Flight number OD827 will depart from Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 09:20 and arrive at Changi Airport, Singapore at 11:40. The return leg, flight number OD828, will leave Singapore at 12:40 and arrive back in Kota Kinabalu at 15:10.

A Boeing 737-800 will serve the route, and the flight time will be approximately two and a half hours in each direction.

Changsha and Kuala Lumpur

Covering the Chinese New Year period, between February 7th and February 28th, Xiamen Airlines will operate a service between Changsha and Kuala Lumpur. The route will operate daily for three weeks only.

Flight number MF8015 will take off from Huanghua International Airport, Changsha, at 11:50 and will land at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 16:20. The return journey, flight number MF8016, will depart from Kuala Lumpur at 17:20 and touch down again in Changsha at 22:05.

The outbound journey time will be about four and a half hours, and a little longer for the return. The route will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
