New route to Melbourne
Busan to Kaohsiung and Kuala Lumpur to Colombo resumed
Hong Kong Airlines will be launching a new service linking the city with Melbourne, Australia.
“This has been a year of significant progress for our Australian market strategy. Following the resumption of our Gold Coast service in January and the launch of our Sydney route in June, we are delighted to add Melbourne as another key destination within just six months,” said Jeff Sun, the airline’s president.
The service will depart three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with flight number HX013 taking off from Hong Kong’s International Airport at Chek Lap Kok at 23:10 and arriving Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport at 11:30 the following day. The return leg, flight number HX014, will depart from Melbourne at 13:00 and arrive back in Hong Kong at 19:20.
The outbound flight duration will be about eleven hours, and a bout eight for the return. The flight will be served by Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Busan to Kaohsiung
Commencing on October 3rd, Jeju Air will resume its service linking South Korea’s southern city, Busan, with Kaohsiung in the south of Taiwan. The service, which previously operated until last spring, will depart daily.
Flight number 7C6255 will take off from Busan’s Gimhae International Airport at 14:15 and arrive at Kaohsiung International Airport at 16:00. The return journey, flight number 7C6256, will depart from Kaohsiung at 17:00 and arrive back in Busan at 20:40.
The flight duration will be about two hours and forty-five minutes, and the aircraft will be a Boeing 737-800.
Kuala Lumpur to Colombo
Batik Air Malaysia will relaunch its service linking Kuala Lumpur and the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, starting on December 11th. The flight will operate four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Flight number OD297 will depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 00:05 and arrive at Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport at 01:05 local time. The return leg, flight number OD298, will leave Colombo at 02:05 and arrive back in Kuala Lumpur at 08:25.
A Boeing 737-800 will operate the route, which will take about three and a half hours for the outward journey and a little longer for the return.
