New flights from Batik Air
Four times a week to Melbourne, twice a week to Dili

March 26th, 2025. Malaysian full-service carrier Batik Air will launch a new flight between Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne, Australia. The service will operate four times a week, starting on March 29th, with two different time slots.

On Sundays and Tuesdays flight number OD175 will take off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 16:45 and land at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport at 04:15 the next morning. The return leg, flight number OD176, departs from Melbourne on Mondays and Wednesdays at 05:15 and lands again in Kuala Lumpur at 12:00.

The service on Thursdays and Saturdays retain the same flight numbers but depart from Kuala Lumpur at 12:15 and arrive in Melbourne at 23:45. The return trip departs from Melbourne at 00:30 on Fridays and Sundays and arrive back in Kuala Lumpur at 07:15.

The outbound flight time is eight and a half hours, the inbound fifteen minutes longer and will be served by Airbus A330 aircraft.

Adding Timor-Leste to the route map

Starting from June 6th Batik Air will introduce a service linking the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, with Dili in Timor-Leste.

Timor-Leste takes up the eastern half on Timor Island, the largest of the Lesser Sunda Islands, along with the enclave of Oecusse-Ambeno on the north coast.

The service operates on Mondays and Fridays with flight number OD372 departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 02:15 and arriving in Dili at 07:30. The return journey will leave Dili at 08:20 and arrive back in Kuala Lumpur at 11:30.

The flight duration is around four hours and fifteen minutes and will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
