New Cebu Pacific routes

August 17, 2024. Cebu Pacific will be introducing flights between the Philippine capital, Manila and Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. Starting from October 29 the flights will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with flight number 5J 874 departing from Manila at 23.35 for the four-hour flight.

The return flight, 5J 875, will take off from Chiang Mai at 00.45 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays touching down in Manila at 05.55 local time.

“We share the anticipation of many Filipino travelers as we prepare to launch the only direct flights between Manila and Chiang Mai. This new route will provide our passengers the opportunity to explore Thailand beyond its urban attractions. Chiang Mai’s natural heritage, ancient temples, and laid-back atmosphere promise a tranquil escape for every Juan,” said Pacific’s President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao.

Chiang Mai is steeped in history having been the capital of the Lanna Kingdom from 1292 to 1775. It became a vassal of Burma in 1558 until it was finally absorbed into the Kingdom of Siam two hundred and seventeen years later.

Hong Kong and Singapore

The airline is planning to reintroduce its route between Davao and Hong Kong. This flight will operate four times a week starting from October 27th departing on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flight 5J 5262 will depart Davao at 08.20 and arrive in Hong Kong at 11.50. The return journey, flight 5J 5263 leaves Hong Kong at 12:35 landing back in Davao at 16:05. The flight time is three hours and thirty minutes.

Also, the flight from Iloilo to Singapore will be relaunched on November 25. This route will operate three times a week. Flight number 5J 283 will take off from Iloilo on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 22.45, for the three-hour and forty-minute flight, touching down in Singapore at 02.25 the following morning. The return flight leaves Singapore at 03.25 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving back at Iloilo at 07.00.

Direct booking for the Hong Kong and Singapore flights was not available on the Cebu Pacific website at the time of publication. Details were checked via other online booking agents.
