KL to Shanghai and Sydney
Loong Air to launch a service between Hangzhou and Singapore
April 6th, 2026. Malaysia’s Batik Air has direct flights to both Shanghai and Sydney lined up. First on the runway will be a daily flight connecting Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai, which takes off on June 23rd.
Flight number OD616 will take off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 20:00 and arrive at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport at 01:20 the next morning. The return trip, flight number OD617, will leave Shanghai at 02:20 and land back in Kuala Lumpur at 08:00.
The journey time will be approximately five and a half hours in each direction, and the flight will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The service to Sydney will launch on July 1st and operate six days a week with two different time slots.
Flight number OD119 will depart from Kuala Lumpur on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 09:40, and arrive at Sydney Airport at 20:00. The return leg, flight number OD120, leaves Sydney at 22:30 and lands back in Kuala Lumpur at 05:35 the next morning.
On Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, flight number OD121 will depart from Kuala Lumpur at 20:55 and touch down in Sydney at 07:15 the next morning. The return journey, flight number OD122, leaves Sydney at 09:50 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving back in Kuala Lumpur at 16:55.
Airbus A330-300 will serve this route, and the flight time will be a little under eight and a half hours for the outbound journey and a little over nine hours for the return.
Hangzhou to Singapore
Meanwhile, Loong Air has scheduled a service between Hangzhou and Singapore, due to take off on July 2nd. The flight will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Flight number GJ8057 will depart from Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan International Airport at 09:20 and arrive at Changi Airport in Singapore at 14:45. The return leg, flight number GJ8058, will leave Singapore at 15:45 and land back in Hangzhou at 20:50.
The route will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft, and the journey time will be about five and a half hours for the outbound flight and around thirty minutes less for the return.
