China Eastern to add a time limited service between Shanghai and Phu Quoc

January 12th, 2026. Towards the end of January, Juneyao Airlines will be relaunching its Shanghai to Macau service. Starting on the 23rd, the airline will initially operate the route twice a week on Fridays and Sundays. From February 17th, this will increase to a daily service.

The former Portuguese enclave boasts over 400 years of history and is a major UNESCO heritage site. It also has huge international resorts with fun attractions for all the family, and is the only place in China where casinos are legal.

Flight number HO1297 will take off from Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport at 17:20 and will touch down at Macao International Airport at 20:15. The return leg, flight number HO1298, will leave Macau at 21:15 and arrive back in Shanghai at 23:40.

The outward flight will last a little under three hours, and approximately thirty minutes less for the return trip. The flight will be served by an Airbus 320 aircraft.

Shanghai to Phu Quoc

China Eastern will launch a time-limited service between Shanghai and the Vietnamese holiday island, Phu Quoc. The service, which will overlap the lunar new year period, commences on February 2nd and continues daily until March 13th.

Flight number MU7237 will depart from Shanghai’s Pudong Airport at 21:30 and will arrive at Phu Quoc International Airport at 01:50 the next morning. The return trip, flight number MU7238, will depart from Phu Quoc at 02:50 and will arrive back in Shanghai at 08:10.

An Airbus A320 Neo will serve the route, and the journey time will be about five and a half hours for the outbound journey, and an hour less for the return.
