Irkutsk to Guilin and Kalibo
VietJet to link Ho Chi Minh and Manila

September 8th, 2025. An interesting new route from Russian carrier IrAero links Irkutsk with Kalibo, in the Philippines. Kalibo is the closest international airport to the resort island of Boracay. The flight also makes a stop in Guilin, China, an area famous for its spectacular limestone karst landscape.

The flight will operate on Saturdays only, commencing on October 25th.

Flight number IO2187 will take off from Irkutsk International Airport at 04:00 and arrive at Liangjiang International Airport, Guilin at 08:10 for a one-hour layover. The journey will continue at 09:10 and touch down at Kalibo International Airport at 12:10.

The return journey, flight number IO2188, leaves Kalibo at 14:00 and touches down in Guilin at 17:00. It departs again at 18:00 and finally arrives back in Irkutsk at 22:20.

The route will be served by Sukhoi SuperJet SSJ100 aircraft, and the overall journey time from Irkutsk to Kalibo will be approximately eight hours and ten minutes each way.

VietJet to link Ho Chi Minh and Manila

Starting on November 22nd, VietJet will launch a service between Ho Chi Minh City and Manila. This will be the airline’s first direct connection between Vietnam and the Philippines. The flight will operate five times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Flight Number VJ858 will depart from Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat Airport at 23:05 and will touch down at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila at 02:50 the following morning. The return leg, flight number VJ859, will depart from Manila at 03:45 on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and will arrive back in Ho Chi Minh at 05:30.

The flight duration will be about three hours and forty-five minutes in each direction, and the route will be served by Airbus A321 aircraft.
