New flights between Mumbai and Krabi, and Tiruchirappalli to Jaffna

March 11th, 2025. India’s low-cost carrier, Indigo, is launching two new flights towards the end of March. The first, a service between Mumbai and Krabi in southern Thailand, will hit the runway on March 23rd operating six days a week for the first week and daily thereafter.

Krabi is a popular resort town famous for its beautiful beaches, hot springs, and breathtaking limestone karst scenery. It is just a short ferry ride from the world-famous Phi Phi Islands.

“We are extremely pleased to introduce direct flights from Mumbai to Krabi, our third destination in Thailand, after Bangkok and Phuket. Krabi’s breathtaking beaches & natural beauty make it one of the most popular tourist destinations for visitors,” said Vinay Malhotra, the airline’s Head of Global Sales.

Flight number 6E 1085 will take off from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 04:15 and will arrive in Krabi at 10:10. The return leg, flight number 6E 1086, will depart from Krabi at 21:45 and arrive back in Mumbai at 00:40.

The duration of the flight will be about four hours and twenty-five minutes and will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.

Tiruchirappalli to Jaffna

The second flight will launch on March 30th between Tiruchirappalli in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and Jaffna at the northern tip of Sri Lanka. Two distinct cities, both steeped in history, just a short flight from each other.

Flight number 6E 1187 will depart from Tiruchirappalli International Airport at 13:25 and will touch down at Jaffna International Airport at 14:25. The return journey, flight number 6E 1188, will depart from Jaffna at 15:10 and land back in Tiruchirappalli at 16:05.

The sixty-minute flight will be served by ATR72 twin-engine turboprop aircraft.
