October 7th, 2025. Direct flights between India and China will be reestablished when IndiGo Air launches direct flights between Kolkata and the southern city of Guangzhou. Reservations are now open for the service will operate daily starting on October 26th.

Flight number 6E1703 will take off from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, at 22:00 and will touch down at Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport at 04:05 the next morning. The return leg, flight number 6E1704, will leave Guangzhou at 05:35 and land back in Kolkata at 07:50.

The outbound journey will last approximately three and a half hours, and the return will be about one hour longer. The flight will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.

Kolkata to Siem Reap

On November 13th, the airline will also be launching its inaugural service between Kolkata and Siem Reap, home of the world-famous temple complex in Cambodia. The first Indian airline ever to offer direct connections between the two countries.

“In line with our commitment to connecting India to key global destinations, we are delighted to be the first Indian carrier to offer direct flights to Cambodia. This service not only enhances international connectivity from Kolkata but also provides a convenient connection from the rest of India to Cambodia via Kolkata, leveraging IndiGo’s extensive domestic network,” said Pieter Elbers, the airline’s CEO.

Flight number 6E1655 will take off from Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at 01:50 and arrive at Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport at 06:20. The return leg leaves Siem Reap at 07:20 and lands back in Kolkata at 08:55.

The flight duration is about three hours. The website doesn’t give the aircraft type, but most of Indigo’s fleet are Airbus A320 and A321.
