Sichuan Airlines to launch Chengdu to Vientiane service

February 9th, 2026. Greater Bay Airlines has launched a new service from its home base in Hong Kong to Hohhot, the capital of China’s Inner Mongolia province. The flight will operate four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Flight number HB920 takes off from Hong Kong International Airport at 13:55, except Wednesdays when its slot is twenty minutes later at 14:15. The flight touches down at Baita International Airport, Hohhot at 17:00 on all days. The return trip, flight number HB921, leaves Hohhot at 17:55 and lands back in Hong Kong at 21:20.

The route will be served by Boeing 737-900 aircraft, and the journey time will be a little over three hours.

Hong Kong to Male

The airline is also taking reservations for a seasonal service between Hong Kong and the Maldives. The route will operate daily between July 1st and August 31st.

Flight number HB500 will depart from Hong Kong at 13:50 and arrive at Male Velana International Airport at 17:30. The return leg, flight number HB501, departs from Male at 19:45 and arrives back in Hong Kong at 06:00 the following morning.

The flight duration will be approximately six hours and forty minutes for the outbound journey, and about half an hour longer for the return. A Boeing 737-900 aircraft will serve the route.

Chengdu to Vientiane

Meanwhile, Sichuan Airlines will be launching a service linking Chengdu with Vientiane, the capital of Laos. The route will operate four times a week, departing on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Flight number 3U3927 will take off from Chengdu’s Tianfu International Airport at 22:45 and will land at Wattay International Airport, Vientiane at 00:25 the next morning. The return journey, flight number 3U3928, will leave Vientiane at 01:45 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and land back in Chengdu at 05:15.

An Airbus A320 aircraft will serve the route, and the flight time will be about two and a half hours in each direction.
