New flights from San Fransisco to Asia and Australia

June 26th, 2025. United Airlines will be introducing new daily from San Fransisco to both Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City. Both flights will be extensions to the airline’s existing Hong Kong services but passengers will need to change aircraft.

The service between Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh City, flight number UA152, will take off from Chek Lap Kok Airport at 21:15 and arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh at 22:55. The return leg, flight number UA153, will leave Ho Chi Minh at 06:00 and arrive back in Hong Kong at 09:35.

The journey time in each direction will be about two hours and forty minutes.

The Bangkok service, flight number UA822, will depart from Hong Kong at 09:00 and arrive at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 10:35. The return journey will leave Bangkok at 16:40 and arrive back in Hong Kong at 20:45 after a flight time of approximately three hours.

Both flights will be served by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners whilst the San Fransisco portions of the journey will be aboard Boeing 777-300s.

San Fransisco to South Australia

Starting from December 11th United will also launch a direct non-stop service from San Fransisco to Adelaide, in South Australia. The flight will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Flight number UA207 will take off from San Fransisco at 23:05 and land at Adelaide Airport at 09:30 two calendar days later. The return leg, flight number UA208 will depart from Adelaide at 14:55 and touch down again in San Fransisco at 11:15.

The outbound flights will be a little under sixteen hours and one hour less for the the return. A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will serve the route.
