Chinese airlines grow their networks
Air China revives Chengdu to Paris
China Eastern adds Abu Dhabi
Sichuan Airlines flies to Penang
March 25th, 2025. Commencing from April 28th Air China will resume its service between Chengdu and Paris. Flight number CA457 will operate every Monday departing from Chengdu’s Tianfu International Airport at 01:40 and arriving at Paris Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 06:50. The return leg, flight number CA458, will leave Paris at 12:50 and arrive back in Chengdu at 05:00 the following morning.
The outbound journey is scheduled to take eleven hours and ten minutes the return about one hour less. The airline will deploy Airbus A350-900 aircraft for the trip.
On the same day, China Eastern Airlines will launch a flight between Shanghai and Abu Dhabu becoming the first Chinese airline to serve the route.
Flight number MU237 will take off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 15:10 and arrive at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 21:20. The return Journey, flight number MU238, will leave Abu Dhabi at 23:20 and land back in Shanghai at 12:40 the following day.
The westbound flight will last ten hours and ten minutes the return journey almost an hour less and will be served by Airbus A330 aircraft.
Sichuan Airlines flies to Penang
Meanwhile, Sichuan Airlines will be linking Chengdu’s Tianfu International Airport with Penang in Malaysia starting from April 30th. There will be five departures a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Flight number 3U3911 will take off from Chengdu at 19:40 and arrive at Penang International Airport five minutes past midnight the next morning. The return journey, flight number 3U3912, will depart from Penang at 01:00 on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and arrive back in Chengdu at 05:10.
An Airbus A320 will make the outbound journey in four hours and twenty-five minutes and fifteen minutes quicker for the return.
