Cebu Pacific to launch Iloilo to Bangkok
Philippine Airlines to link Cebu and Chi Minh City
February 21st, 2025. Philippine carrier, Cebu Pacific, will introduce direct flights between Iloilo and Bangkok. The flight will operate three times a week departing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Commencing on March 31st flight number 5J 5970 will take off from Iloilo International Airport at 21:30 and arrive at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport at 00:25 the following morning. The return leg, flight number 5J 5971, departs from Bangkok at 01:25 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrives back in Iloilo at 06:15.
The airline will deploy Airbus A320ceo aircraft and the flight duration will be a little under four hours.
“We are thrilled to offer more travellers the opportunity to explore the majestic city of Bangkok. Strengthening our Iloilo hub allows us to connect even more passengers from the Western Visayas region to exciting destinations across our international network,” said Xander Lao, the airline’s President and Chief Commercial Officer.
Bangkok is the third international destination served by Cebu Pacific from their Iloilo hub after Hong Kong and Singapore.
Philippine Airlines to link Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City
Starting on May 2nd Philippine Airlines will commence services between Cebu in the Central Visayas and Vietnam’s leading commercial hub, Ho Chi Minh City. This will be the first direct flight between the two cities.
“We are pleased to expand Philippine Airlines’ footprint in Vietnam, our next-door neighbour and fellow ASEAN member country, through our new service linking Ho Chi Minh City to Cebu for the first time,” said Stanley K. Ng, President and Chief Operating Officer of Philippine Airlines.
The service will operate three times a week with flight number PR587 departing from Mactan-Cebu International Airport at 22:55 on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and landing at Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 00:55 the next morning. The return trip, flight number PR588 will depart from Ho Chi Minh at 01:55 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays arriving back in Cebu at 06:05.
The journey will take around three hours each way and will be served by Airbus A321 aircraft.
From April 2nd, the airline will also increase its service between Manila and Hanoi to daily, up from five flights a week.
