Hainan Airlines returns to Oslo

JANUARY 17th, 2025. Starting from June 5th Cathay Pacific will launch a three times a week non-stop flight between Hong Kong and Rome for the summer season. The service will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from June 5th until October 25th.

Flight number CX293 will take off from Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok at 00:45 and arrive at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport at 07:50. The return leg, flight number CX292, will depart from Rome at 11:45 and touch down back in Hong Kong at 05:20 the next morning.

The flight is served by an Airbus A350-900 and the duration is around thirteen hours outbound and eleven and a half hours return.

“Cathay Pacific’s history in Italy stretches back close to 40 years when we first launched direct flights between Hong Kong and Rome in 1986,” said Lavinia Lau Cathay’s chief customer and commercial officer.

“We know our customers have been eagerly anticipating the return of this route, and we are delighted to be returning to Italy’s marvellous capital this summer.”

Rome is the airline’s second destination in Italy. Cathay already makes five trips a week to Milan with two more to be added in the summer.

This new route adds to the earlier announcements of services to Hyderabad, Dallas, Munich, and Brussels whilst its low-cost sibling, HK Express, is adding services to Sendai.

Hainan Airlines returns to Oslo

Commencing from March 22nd Hainan Airlines will reinstate its service between Beijing and the Norwegian capital. The service will operate as a seasonal service on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until October 25th.

Flight number HU769 will depart from Beijing’s Capital International Airport at 02:40 and touch down at Oslo Gardermoen Airport at 05:50. The return journey, flight number HU770 takes off from Oslo at 13:30 and arrives back in Beijing at 04:30 the following morning.

The airline will deploy an Airbus A330-300 for the journey which will take around ten hours.
