Capital Airlines’ new route to Colombo
Xiamen Airlines links Tianjin and Bangkok, and China Airlines to Ishigaki
January 9th, 2026. Commencing on January 31st, Beijing Capital Airlines will launch a route connecting Beijing with the Sri Lankan capital Colombo. The service will operate once a week on Saturdays, except between February 10th and 28th, when a second weekly flight each Tuesday will be added.
Flight number JD487 will take off from Beijing’s Daxing International Airport at 08:15 and will arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo, at 14:20. The return journey, flight number JD488, will leave Colombo at 16:20 and arrive back in Beijing at 01:55 the next morning.
An Airbus A330-300 aircraft will serve the route, and the journey time will be approximately eight and a half hours for the outbound trip and a little over seven hours for the return.

Tianjin to Bangkok
Xiamen Airlines will be operating a time-limited service between Tianjin and Bangkok during February, covering the Lunar New Year period. The flights will commence on February 7th and operate daily until February 28th.
Flight number MF8651 will depart from Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 07:55 and will touch down at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 12:25. The return trip, flight number MF8652, leaves Bangkok at 13:20 and arrives back in Tianjin at 19:15.
The journey time will be five and a half hours for the outbound flight, and about thirty minutes faster for the return. A Boeing 737-800 aircraft will serve the route.
Taipei to Ishigaki
Starting on April 1st, China Airlines will introduce a service linking Taipei with Ishigaki, an island in Okinawa prefecture. The flight will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Flight Number CI124 will take off from Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport at 08:20 and will arrive at Painushima Ishigaki Airport at 10:15. The return leg, flight number CI125, will leave Ishigaki at 11:15 and land back in Taipei at 11:20.
An Airbus A321 Neo aircraft will be deployed for the route, and the journey time will be about an hour in each direction.
