Budget flights between Singapore and Colombo
August 21, 2024. Jetstar Asia will be launching direct flights between Singapore and Colombo, Sri Lanka from 21 November 2024. The airline will operate five return services at two different time slots each week utilising its fleet of Airbus A320s.
Flight number 3K333 will take off from Singapore’s Changi Airport on Sundays and Thursdays at 08.55 arriving in Colombo at 10.25. The return flight, number 3K334, leaves Colombo at 11.25 landing back in Singapore at 18.00
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays flight number 3K331 will depart from Singapore at 21.00, touching down in Colombo at 22.30. The return journey, flight number 3K332, will depart from Colombo at 23.30, landing in Singapore at 06.15 the next morning.
Gateway to Sri Lanka
Colombo is the gateway to the rest of Sri Lanka, a teardrop-shaped island nation in the Bay of Bengal, off the southeastern tip of India. Its attractions include the Sigiriya Ancient Rock Fortress, a huge block of granite about 180 metres tall. The site was chosen by King Kashyapa (AD 477–495) for his new capital, with his palace looking down from the top.
Another popular excursion is a train ride up to Ella. Located at an elevation of 1,041 metres the town boasts a cooler climate. It is surrounded by forested hills and tea plantations. The area boasts several picturesque waterfalls, a spectacular viaduct that carries the railway and the Dhowa Temple. This is a 2,000-year-old Buddhist temple with a twelve-metre Buddha statue carved into the surrounding rock.
