Loong Air adds Xi’an to Bangkok service
September 3rd, 2025. Thai AirAsia is launching a new service connecting Bangkok with Hanoi via Luang Prabang, the former royal capital of Laos. Luang Prabang is famous for its many temples, including the sixteenth-century Wat Xieng Thong.
The service will operate daily commencing on December 1st. Flight number FD1038 will depart from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport at 13:55, and will touch down at Luang Prabang International Airport at 15:15 for a fifty-minute layover. It will continue its journey at 16:05 and arrive at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi at 17:15.
The return journey, flight number FD1039, will leave Hanoi at 17:45 and will land in Luang Prabang at 18:55 for another fifty minutes before continuing its journey at 19:45. It will land back in Bangkok at 21:15.
The overall journey time is approximately three and a half hours in each direction, and the route will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.
Xi’an to Bangkok
Between September 21st and October 25th, Loong Air will operate a short seasonal service between Xi’an and Bangkok. The flight will depart three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Flight number GJ8907 will take off from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport at 23:10 and arrive at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 02:20 the next morning. The return leg, flight number GJ8908, will depart from Bangkok at 03:20 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and will touch down again in Xi’an at 07:55.
The outbound journey time will be a little over four hours, with the return journey thirty minutes less. The flight will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.
