New flights to Tainan and Shanghai, China Southern links Guangzhou and Jeju

October 9th, 2026. On October 25th, VietJet will resume its service between Hanoi and Tainan, in the southwest of Taiwan. The route will operate four times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Flight number VJ1942 will take off from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport at 07:50 and will arrive at Tainan International Airport at 11:10. The return journey, flight number VJ1943, will depart from Tainan at 12:10 and arrive back in Hanoi at 14:00

An Airbus A321 will serve the route. The outbound flight time will be two hours and twenty minutes, and the return will be thirty minutes longer.

Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai

Also on October 25th, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will introduce a daily service linking Ho Chi Minh City with Shanghai.

Flight number 9G634 will depart from Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 21:45 and will arrive at Pudong International Airport, Shanghai at 02:45 the next morning. The return leg, flight number 9G635, will leave Shanghai at 04:15 and will land back in Ho Chi Minh at 07:40.

The flight will be served by Airbus A321 Neo aircraft. The outbound flight duration will be four hours, and the return flight is scheduled to last twenty-five minutes longer.

Guangzhou to Jeju

China Southern is to resume its route between Guangzhou and Jeju after a nine-year hiatus. Reservations are now open for the service, which will depart three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays commencing on December 19th.

Flight number CZ8125 will take off from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 09:35 and arrive at Jeju International Airport at 13:35. The return trip, flight number CZ8126, leaves Jeju at 14:35 and arrives back in Guangzhou at 17:05.

The outbound journey duration will be three hours, and the return will be about half an hour longer. The route will be served by Airbus A320 Neo aircraft.

The airline’s website wasn’t listing outbound flights on Tuesdays, when I checked, but did list them for the return. SkyScanner listed agents that offered both directions.
