New flights to Ethiopia, New Zealand, and Australia
September 28th, 2026. Xiamen Airlines will launch a seasonal service from Xiamen to the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on November 28th. The flight will depart every Saturday until February 27th.
Flight number MF807 will take off from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport at 17:45 and will arrive at Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, at 00:15 the next morning. The return journey, flight number MF808, will leave Addis Ababa at 15:15 on Sundays and arrive back in Xiamen at 06:00 the next day.
A Boeing 787-8 will operate the route. The outbound journey will last eleven and a half hours, and the return will be nine hours and forty-five minutes.
Chengdu to Auckland
From December 3rd, Sichuan Airlines will launch a seasonal route to New Zealand. The route will operate twice a week on Sundays and Thursdays between Chengdu and Auckland until March 25th.
Flight number 3U3811 will depart from Tianfu International Airport, Chengdu, at 01:40 and will arrive at Auckland International Airport at 19:00. The return leg, flight number 3U3812, will leave Auckland at 22:00 and arrive back in Chengdu at 05:35 the following morning.
The outbound journey time will be twelve hours and twenty minutes, and the return will be about fifteen minutes longer. An Airbus A350-900 will serve the route.
Shenzhen to Sydney
Shenzhen Airlines is also heading south of the equator with a new service to Sydney, Australia. The flight will operate four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Flight number ZH815 will take off from Shenzhen’s Baoan International Airport at 00:20 and will touch down at Kingsford Smith Airport, Sydney, at 13:40. The return journey, flight number ZH816, will leave Sydney at 22:30 and arrive back in Shenzhen at 05:25 the next morning.
The journey will be on board an Airbus A330-300 aircraft and the duration will be ten hours and twenty minutes for the outbound flight and about half an hiur faster for the return.
