Xiamen Airlines adds routes to both Vietnam and Malaysia

August 3rd, 2026. Xiamen Airlines is adding a trio of new routes to Southeast Asia to its timetable. First on the runway will be a resumption of a service between Xiamen and Kota Kinabalu that last flew in early 2021. Kota Kinabalu is the gateway to the UNESCO-listed Kinabalu National Park and the highest mountain in Borneo. The route will operate three times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting on September 23rd.

Flight number MF8641 will depart from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport at 08:45 and will arrive at Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 12:05. The return journey, flight number MF8642, will leave Kota Kinabalu at 13:05 and touch down back in Xiamen at 16:40.

The route will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The outbound journey time will be three hours and twenty minutes, and the return will be about fifteen minutes longer.

Nanjing and Beijing to Hanoi

The other two flights are both daily services to Hanoi from Nanjing and Beijing, and take off a day later on September 24th.

Flight number MF8713 will depart from Lukou International Airport, Nanjing, at 15:00 and will land at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport at 16:55. The return leg, flight number MF8714, will leave Hanoi at 17:55 and arrive back in Nanjing at 22:00.

The journey time will be approximately three hours in each direction, and a Boeing 737-800 aircraft will serve the flight.

From Beijing, flight number MF8011 will take off from Daxing International Airport at 14:55 and is scheduled to arrive in Hanoi at 17:55. The return journey, flight number MF8012, will leave Hanoi at 19:05 and will arrive back in Beijing at 23:35.

The outbound flight time will be about three hours and forty minutes, and about ten minutes less for the return. This route will also be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
